Regeneration 1 is a faith-based transitional sober living and recovery program supporting individuals in New Jersey who are rebuilding their lives after incarceration, substance use, and homelessness.

Our Story

Regeneration 1 was founded by Edward Roberts in 2019 after his own recovery and reentry journey revealed both the struggles and the hope that exist when people receive real support while starting over.

Seeing too many individuals return home without housing, employment, or community, Edward was committed to creating a faith-centered environment rooted in accountability, dignity, and brotherhood.

Our Mission

The mission of Regeneration 1 is to develop, support, and sustain justice-involved and underserved men in Elizabeth and Union County, New Jersey through transitional housing, workforce readiness training, apprenticeship pathways, and access to community-based technology resources. We are committed to restoring stability, building employable skills, and empowering individuals to achieve long-term self-sufficiency and purposeful lives.
