Nicole’s Story
Nicole Roberts serves as the Volunteer Director of Regeneration 1. Her heart for this work is rooted in lived experience and a lifelong commitment to community, compassion, and care.
As a young mother, Nicole navigated life without financial stability, clear guidance, or consistent support. Growing up adopted and often feeling like an outsider, she was exposed to environments shaped by substance use, street life, and survival. These experiences gave her a firsthand understanding of how quickly limited opportunity and instability can change the course of a life. Those realities didn’t just affect her, they deeply affected her family.
Nicole watched her son struggle with the same influences, cycling through the criminal justice system before tragically losing his life. That loss strengthened her resolve to ensure others are not left without support, structure, or hope when they are trying to find a way forward.
Long before Regeneration 1 was formed, Nicole was already serving her community - opening her home to children facing hunger, supporting young parents, helping individuals access housing, education, and basic resources, and showing up wherever need existed.
Over time, this personal outreach grew into broader community service alongside Edward - creating opportunities for individuals returning from incarceration and recovery to work, rebuild confidence, and be seen for who they are becoming.
For Nicole, Regeneration 1 represents a place of dignity, care, and renewal - where individuals and families affected by incarceration, addiction, and instability are met with compassion and real opportunity. Her story helps anchor the organization in empathy, accountability, and the belief that restoration is possible when people are supported, not forgotten.
